lies a very personal story.

We are a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) in Frankfurt (Oder) and we print, embroider, wrap, create stamps, advise on company re-registrations and business start-ups, and design websites.
I am Diemo Jänchen, a trained screen printer, registered photographer, and dedicated owner of shirt-idee.com | Advertising • Print • Embroidery since January 2010. Born in Uckermark, I have lived in Frankfurt (Oder) since 1980 and am deeply rooted in our region.

June 1992 - The Beginning

On June 2, 1992, the company (then called "SHIRT-IDEE Textilhandel & Druck") was founded by my father, Uwe Jänchen. As a mobile photo printing studio with a camera, computer, and printer for T-shirts, mugs, and posters, my father traveled from weekly market to weekly market and to various village and city festivals. Even then, I accompanied him (especially on weekends and during holidays).

November 1992 - The First Store

On November 3, 1992, my father opened his retail store in the SMC (Spitzkrug-Multi-Center) in Frankfurt (Oder). Since then, it has been a point of contact for all customers from our region. He acquired additional equipment and was able to expand the range of services. At this time, foiling and plot printing on textiles were added. Furthermore, with the first transfer printer, the service "instant printing in just 2 minutes" could be offered. We still offer this printing process today!

1994 - Service Continues to Grow

With the growing awareness of our, at the time, unique printing service in Frankfurt (Oder), demand from residents of Frankfurt and Oderland also increased. Through word-of-mouth recommendations for the high quality standards that still define our service today, our customer base grew steadily. My father expanded the business with a textile screen printing shop. Textile screen printing was produced on-site in the workshop in Kliestow.

1996 to 1999 - Screen Printer Training

I began my training as a screen printer in September 1996 in Rhineland-Palatinate. After successfully completing it in 1999, I spent another six months in a large textile printing company in Berlin. In April 2000, I then joined our company full-time and took over the management of the screen printing department and the production of signs.

2005 to 2006 - Embroidery & Digital Printing

In the early years of our millennium, the printing industry, driven by the digital revolution, was one of the fastest-developing and changing sectors. Our customers' wishes grew, and we invested in embroidery and digital printing. This allowed us to keep pace with the times.
Embroidery fascinated my father from the beginning. He had found his passion and from then on focused on this area, continuing his education. With the purchase of our 12-color embroidery machine in 2005, we were able to offer our customers an on-site embroidery service.
Digital printing became my passion, as the technology, apart from the method of color transfer, is very similar to screen printing. This allowed us to combine screen printing with the advantages of digital printing. With the acquisition of our large format printer, it was now possible to produce canvases or posters as single items or small series, in addition to simple adhesive labels. However, digital printing particularly reduced the production costs for complex multicolor prints.

2000 to 2007 - Internet & Web Hosting

Already in the summer of 2000, due to some dissatisfactions in website administration, I developed a small and functional CMS (Content Management System). Over the years, I continuously expanded it and thus was able to offer our customers services related to websites. In 2007, we then rented our first dedicated web server and directly supported our customers.

2008 - I train & educate and advise start-up founders

In September 2008, our first apprentice began his training as a screen printer. In the same year, I was accepted into the mentoring service of IHK Projektgesellschaft mbH Ostbrandenburg as a start-up consultant. I advise prospective founders in the area of marketing and support existing companies with my expertise and our range of services during refreshing, generational change, or company re-registration. Together, we develop the foundations of individual corporate advertising and advertising strategies.

January 06, 2010

My father, Uwe Jänchen (company founder), peacefully passed away after a long and serious illness. Even today, there are no words that could describe this loss.
At this point, I want to personally thank friends and companions for their great sympathy. It is not a matter of course to work every day with your own father in the same company and maintain a harmonious working atmosphere. We were able to do that!
All I want to say to you here is: Thank you for having you, Dad. I will continue the company.

March 01, 2013 - Relocation I.

February 28, 2013, was the last day of shirt-idee.com in the SMC premises. We have moved! As of March 8, 2013, our business is located in a place no less rich in history: August-Bebel-Str. 2-4, on the grounds of the old Telegraph & Armory, in the rooms of the former old post office!
What's new is that the company bildermomente.com (Owner: Diemo Jänchen) has opened the bildermomente photo studio at this location.

September 24, 2018 - Relocation II.

Since this date, the companies shirt-idee.com | bildermomente.com | diemojaenchen.de are located at August-Bebel-Str. 115 • 15234 Frankfurt (Oder). As a personal note, I would like to mention here that it is really interesting what a company relocation brings about. You have the opportunity to refocus, separate from old burdens, and continue with fresh energy and full vigor. We finally have a very bright, light-filled new retail store with an connected workshop, embroidery, warehouse, and photo studio.
We are pleased to continue offering our services at this location.

Spring 2019

A new embroidery machine was introduced. After our first embroidery machine retired after long service, the new 15-needle single-head machine with 1200 stitches per minute is almost a small racehorse. It will serve us well in producing various embroideries. Thanks to new technologies and developments, the quality of the embroideries is further enhanced.

Autumn 2022

Digital printing 2.0. This is how this chapter could be titled. With our new printer, we can refine almost anything our customers desire, regardless of the color and detail of the print motifs. We have optimized material consumption, so less waste is produced, and the effectiveness in producing prints has increased enormously with this new device. Thus, we remain equipped for the future and can offer our wide range of products even in these fast-paced times.

April 2024

Shopify... Since 2014, we have actively run our online shops to offer our creativity and service throughout Germany. In the beginning, many things were still very bumpy, and over the last 10 years, we have continuously built up our production and logistics. This included and still includes cooperation with business partners, schools, associations, and companies. Since this year, after having moved our company in Frankfurt twice, we are now in the midst of moving our online shop from Wordpress to Shopify. The simplicity and speed of this system convinced us. We therefore give it a clear recommendation.
